Police: Former Security Guard Facing Theft Charge for Taking Pittsburgh Penguins Photos
Police said the photos were worth $500 a piece.
A Baden man is accused of stealing two Pittsburgh Penguins photos while working as a security guard.
Moon police have charged Lester Lamarco, 66, with theft by unlawful taking.
Police said Lamarco was employed as a uniformed G4S Security guard when he was captured on video surveillance in a hallway June 22 at 10:38 p.m. taking two framed pictures of Pittsburgh Penguins belonging to Azur Enterprise on Rouser Road. An Azur employee reported the photos stolen to police.
Police said the one of the photos depicted Sidney Crosby and the other Marc-Andre Fleury, each valued at $500 a piece.
Police said Lamarco met privately with the chief financial officer of Azur and the security guard manager of G4S, and admitted to the theft with a written confession. Lamarco returned the photos and was subsequently fired.
