Police Charge Moon Woman with Identity Theft

A Moon woman was charged with identity theft after Moon Police said she stole checks from the doorstep of another resident.

Amanda M. Morvak, whose age was unavailable,  earlier this week was charged with theft by deception, receiving stolen property, 10 counts of felony identity theft, and 12 counts of forgery.

Morvak took a box of checks from the house of a Moon woman and tried to use the checks to purchase thousands of dollars worth of items, according to police reports. Police did not disclose the amount that Morvak spent on the items.

Moon Police obtained a warrant for Morvak's arrest earlier this month. Ross Township Police arrested her at an Eat’n Park parking lot in Ross.
