Police Charge Man in Connection to Moon Thefts from Vehicles

Police found GPS systems stolen from cars on Pillar Drive.

A Moon man has been charged in connection to a string of thefts from vehicles last week on Pillar Drive.

Scott Richard Lazor, 24, was arrested during a routine traffic stop Monday morning and charged with giving false identification to law enforcement, receiving stolen property and possession of drug paraphernalia.

During the traffic stop, discovered that Lazor had several outstanding warrants through the Allegheny County Sheriff's Department for charges including theft from a vehicle, night-time prowling and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police said he initially gave them a false name during the traffic stop.

The owner of the vehicle turned items into police that Lazor was storing in the car, which included Nextar and TomTom GPS systems that were confirmed to have been stolen last week from vehicles parked on Pillar Drive. Lazor also had a 1-inch hammer drill, a Sony Cyber-shot digital camera, a crack pipe and several lottery tickets, according to police reports.

Police did not confirm if the other items had been stolen from Moon vehicles.

Six incidents of theft from a vehicle on Pillar Drive were reported May 20. of thefts from cars have been reported this month in the township. Police said they are unsure whether the incidents are related.
