Nearby: Channing Tatum Film Production Returns to Sewickley Heights

Camera crews returned to a Sewickley Heights property over the weekend to shoot scenes for a Hollywood movie starring Channing Tatum.

Sewickley Heights police Officer Sal Arena said the Foxcatcher shoot Sunday at Wilpen Hall on Blackburn Road involved a driving scene for the movie that included vehicles marked as Haverford Township police cars. The cruisers pull into the entrance of the property responding to a call, Arena said.

Based on a true story, the film is about John du Pont (Steve Carell), a chemical fortune heir who suffered from paranoid schizophrenia and went to prison for killing David Schultz (Mark Ruffalo), a 1984 gold medal winning wrestler. Tatum plays Mark, Schultz's younger brother.

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, a member of the Haverford Township Police Department was one of the first SWAT officers to arrive at the estate, where a heavily armed du Pont was holed up in the mansion during a three-day standoff. David Schultz's body was found in the driveway.

The film has been in production since early October, when crews began filming in Sewickley Heights. Scenes have been filmed in other locations around Pittsburgh, including White Oak, McKeesport and the Connoquenessing area in Butler County.

Anyone hoping to catch a glimpse of Foxcatcher stars Tatum, Carell or Ruffalo, is out of luck, at least here. The Sewickley Heights shoot only involved extras and production in the borough wrapped up Sunday, Arena said.
