Moon Woman Injured in I-376 Crash

A motorist was killed in the two-vehicle crash, which occurred near Grant Street in Pittsburgh.

A 19-year-old Moon Township woman was injured in an Interstate 376 West crash early today that left one motorist dead. 

Pennsylvania State Police said a 2004 Volkswagon Jetta traveling the wrong way on the westbound Grant Street exit off Interstate 376 collided at 2 a.m. with a 2010 Hyundai Sonata traveling westbound on the interstate. 

State troopers said the vehicles collided head-on.

A Moon Township woman, who was a passenger in the Hyundai, sustained moderate injuries in the crash. The driver of the vehicle was seriously injured but will survive, according to a statement from state police. 

The driver of the Volkswagon was pronounced dead after the crash at UMPC Mercy Hospital. Two other passengers in the vehicle sustained moderate injuries.

Police did not identify the crash victims.
