Moon Woman Injured in Hopewell Crash
Two people are hurt in afternoon collision on Interstate 376
A Moon Township woman and an Aliquippa man were injured and taken to a hospital Thursday afternoon after their cars collided on Interstate 376 in Beaver County, state police said.
Troopers identified Michelle R. Geier, 44, as the driver of a westbound Mazda that struck a Chevrolet driven by Christopher L. Thornton, 22, at 4 p.m. Geier was driving recklessly and was weaving in and out of traffic, attempting to pass other vehicles on the highway near Bryson Road, state police said.
When Geier's car switched from the right to the left westbound lane, it struck Thornton's car, state police said. The impact caused Geier's car to roll onto its roof in the right lane. Thornton's car struck a guard rail and concrete barrier on a highway bridge before it blocked both lanes of traffic, troopers said.
