Moon Woman Charged with Giving False Reports to Police

Police blotter for March 21.

Moon Police said a woman charged with drunk driving lied about the circumstances of a car crash last week on Old Thorn Run Road.

Chloe Wynter Strasser, 21, of Moon, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a suspended license and giving false reports to law enforcement officers last week.

Moon Police found Strasser at 9 a.m. on March 15 at the scene of a one-car crash on Old Thorn Run Road. Strasser, who was not injured in the accident, told officers that another vehicle cut her off, causing her to swerve and crash her car into a guard rail. Police charged her with drunk driving following the incident.

She later told Police Chief Leo McCarthy that a second person was driving her car at the time of the crash but fled when police arrived, according to a police report. Police said footage from surveillance cameras located on the street showed that no other person or vehicle was involved in the crash.
