Moon Woman Accused of Striking Ex-Boyfriend with Her Car

The two had been fighting over personal possessions, police said.

A Moon Township woman is accused of striking her ex-boyfriend with a car after arguing over personal possessions. 

Moon police have charged Jessica Jo Ruege, 25, of Mount Vernon Avenue, with aggravated assault and reckless endangerment. 

On July 7, police said Ruege argued with her ex-boyfriend over personal belongings then took an iPad from his car, got into her car and drove away to turn around in the cul de sac.

On her way out, police said her ex-boyfriend dialed 911 and stood in her path trying to stop her from leaving with the iPad, but she continued driving forward and struck his leg.

Police said the man buckled and fell onto the hood of the vehicle, and Ruege drove another 10 to 15 feet then stopped. Police said he got off the hood and she left the area. Police responded and saw a black scuff mark on the man's leg. Officers called Ruege, who returned and was arrested.

Crash reported

Vance Drewery, 25, of Pittsburgh charged with causing accidents involving personal injury while not properly licensed and driving under suspension. Police said Drewery rear-ended another car driven by Douglas Haas at 8:58 p.m. July 10 as traffic was slowing down. Police said Haas refused transport to the hospital. Police learned Drewery’s license was suspended.

Unauthorized use of motor vehicle 

Alan Walls, 21, of Moon Clinton Road, Moon, charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Police received a report on July 5 that Walls rented a 2013 Nissan Sentra June 14 from West Hills Nissan on University Boulevard and failed to return the car on the June 19 deadline. Two employees went to Walls’ old address and couldn’t find the vehicle. Police looked up his new address and located the car near Convair Drive. Walls told police he had just got a loan and was planning to return the vehicle that day and pay for the over usage, though he was wearing his work uniform and name tag, police said.

DUI Charges 

  • Robert E. Burton Jr., 36, homeless, charged with driving under the influence and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Police received  a report at 8:30 p.m. July 9 that Burton took a car belonging to his mother from Colony West Drive without permission. While police were taking the, Burton returned with the car and police found an opened bottle of vanilla rum inside with ¼ missing. He was taken to Heritage Valley Sewickley hospital for a blood-alcohol test.
  • Autumn Kennedy, 21, of South Heights, charged with driving under the influence. Police responded at 9:21 p.m. July 7 to a crash at the Sewickley Bridge for a car that hit a concrete barrier. Police said the airbags deployed in Kennedy’s car and she admitted to having a Jello shot earlier in the day. She was taken to Heritage Valley Sewickley hospital for a blood-alcohol test.
  • Bruce Larock, 50, of Chemung, NY, charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. Police responded to the Moon Park exit along Ewing Road for a report of an erratic driver. Police said a witness saw the car leave the road and almost hit a guardrail. Police said the car was parked at the exit and Larock appeared to be passed out. He was awoken and told police he stopped for a nap before continuing a road trip. He was taken to Heritage Valley Sewickley hospital for a blood-alcohol test then taken to Allegheny County Jail. 
  • Janice D. Klemmer, 52, of Coraopolis, charged with driving under the influence. Klemmer was involved in a three-vehicle crash on July 2 shortly before 6 p.m. on Montour Run Road and Hookstown Grade Road. Police said Klemmer appeared confused and was having a hard time finding her information. She was taken to Heritage Valley Sewickley hospital for a blood-alcohol test.
