Moon Police: Several Motorists Charged with DUI

Police arrest about a dozen motorists.

Moon police reported several people charged with driving under the influence, most during a recent West Hills DUI Task Force sobriety checkpoint: 

  • Latoia L. Fordham, 31, of Cedar Drive, Moon, charged with driving under the influence and speeding. Police said officers stopped Fordham’s vehicle at 10:56 p.m. May 27 on Business 376 at the Thorn Run Road off ramp.    
  • Artem Kulish, 31, Berry St., Baden, charged with driving under the influence. Police said Kulish’s vehicle was stopped May 24 around 1:30 a.m. during a sobriety checkpoint on University Boulevard. Kulish admitted to having three to four drinks.
  • Wendy R. Halfhill, 38, of Moon Clinton Road, Moon, charged with public drunkenness. Police received a report of an intoxicated female falling all over the place on Moon Clinton Road near the Skylark Motor Inn. Police located Halfhill, who was lodged at the police station to sober up. Medics were dispatched after she ran into the cell wall, hitting her head, police said.   
  • Bayete S. Gordon, 31, of Moon Clinton Road, charged with driving under the influence and public drunkenness. Police said Gordon pulled his vehicle into the West Hills Nissan parking lot at 2 a.m. May 25 and ran toward the Meadows, attempting to avoid a sobriety checkpoint. Police caught the driver about two minutes later. He admitted to having three to four beers.
  • Charles Zollinger, 32, of Springer Drive, charged with driving under the influence and speeding. Police stopped Zollinger’s car at 9:40 p.m. May 22 on Thorn Run Road after he was clocked going 65 mph in a 35 mph zone. Police said Zollinger admitted he’d been drinking in Pittsburgh.  
  • Brenda Hartman, 24, of Madison Drive, Moon, charged with driving under the influence. Police said Hartman’s vehicle was seen about midnight May 25 drifting on Beaver Grade Road across her lane and the double yellow lines. She admitted to police that she had been drinking earlier in the evening, police said.   
  • Dennis Lietz, 26, Countryside Drive, McKees Rocks, charged with driving under the influence. Police said Lietz’s vehicle was seen following too closely behind another car May 26 on Beaver Grade Road. Lietz told police he had consumed five beers and three shots. 
  • Bryan Telesz, 24, of Canterbury Drive, Moon, charged with driving under the influence. Telesz’s vehicle was stopped at 3:14 a.m. May 25 during a sobriety checkpoint on University Boulevard. Telesz admitted to having one drink, police said.     
  • Brenden Greene, 26, of West End Avenue, Moon, charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. Greene’s vehicle was stopped at 1:33 a.m. May 25 on University Boulevard in a sobriety checkpoint. Greene told police he was coming from a bar in Sewickley and admitted having two beers. 
  • Annett Reyes, 27, of Colony West Drive, Moon, charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a suspended license. Police stopped Reyes’ vehicle at 12:01 a.m. May 25 during a sobriety checkpoint. She admitted to having a few glasses of wine. Reyes refused a blood-alcohol test. 
  • Christopher Kimmel, 28, of Jamestown, NY, charged with receiving stolen property, driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license. Police said Kimmel’s vehicle was seen May 25 crossing the center line on Brodhead Road. He was stopped in n the 500 block of Carnot Road and admitted to smoking marijuana right before the encounter with police. He was transported to the sobriety checkpoint, processed and taken to Allegheny County Jail. Police learned that Kimmel’s 1998 Chevy Monte Carlo had been reported stolen on May 22 from North Tonawanda, NY and that he was wanted by Jamestown city police.
