Moon Police Issue Warning After String of Vehicle Break-Ins

Police said the 20 vehicles were left unlocked.

Moon Police are warning residents to lock their vehicles after a string of overnight thefts in the township.

According to police, 20 unlocked vehicles were rummaged through in Broad Hill Farms, Broad Hill Court, Broad Hill Estates and Shelbourne. 

Several of the vehicles were rummaged through but nothing was taken. Police received the first theft report at 8:05 a.m. Thursday.

Among the items taken were a $1,200 laptop, two GPS systems, a purse with credit cards, a leather pouch, a backpack, a Tupperware container, about $100 total in loose change and two pairs of sunglasses worth $180 and $200. 

The streets targeted were Fieldstone, Turnwood, Shelbourne, Ridgestar, Skylark Estate, Broad Hill Farms Road, Barnes and Harvest Court.

All of the vehicles involved were left unlocked.

Moon Police Chief Leo McCarthy said residents are encouraged to report suspicious vehicles and people to the police. 

“Please remember to lock your vehicles and not display valuables,” he added.
