Moon Police Chief McCarthy Discusses Afternoon Standoff on McLaughlin Road
A Moon resident has been charged with reckless endangerment after police and neighbors say he fired a pellet gun outside his apartment.
on Monday were involved in an hours-long standoff with a Moon man who was charged with shooting a pellet gun into a wooded area.
Stephen James Mitrecic, 28, of McLaughlin Road, is with reckless endangerment. He was released from police custody last night.
Neighbors told police that Mitrecic, who had been evicted from his McLaughlin Road apartment earlier that day, was outside shooting a firearm that resembled a high-powered rifle with a scope.

Police said Mitrecic did not answer his door or telephone for several hours while officers waited to arrest him outside. The South Hills Council of Government's emergency team and Pennsylvania State Police also responded.
No one was hurt in the incident, but access to McLaughlin Road was closed for several hours while police investigated. A preliminary hearing for Mitrecic has not been scheduled.
