Moon Police Charge Motorists with DUI After Checkpoint

made the following recent arrests and responded to the following incidents in the township. Each item is a reflection of police records and does not indicate guilt or a conviction. 

  • Police in Moon charged six motorists with driving under the influence of a controlled substance during a West Hills DUI Task Force checkpoint on May 25. Police stopped all vehicles from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. traveling northbound on University Boulevard at the Moon Clinton Road interesction to deter drunken driving in the area. 
  • Olivia Antoinette Rush, 19, of Moon Township, was charged with theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property May 21 at Big Kmart on Market Place Boulevard.  
  • Lisa Marie Chura, of Coraopolis, was charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, accidents involving damage to an attended vehicle, driving with a suspended license and making a u-turn on a divided highway at 1 p.m April 18 on Stoops Ferry Road. Police have charged Chura with being involved in a hit-and-run crash on the roadway. 
  • Michael Fedorowich, 37, of Moon Township, was charged with simple assault and false imprisonment at 1:30 a.m. May 26 following a domestic dispute at his Forest Green Drive home. He was taken to Allegheny County Jail following the incident.
