Moon Officer Injured in Four-Vehicle Crash on Beaver Grade Road

Moon Police say the officer is treated for minor injuries after crash earlier today.

A officer suffered minor injuries after a four-vehicle crash today at the intersection of Forest Green Drive and Beaver Grade Road.

Officer Steven Pletcher was taken to following the crash today and "treated for minor bumps and bruises," said Moon Police Capt. Greg Seamon.

The crash occurred about 2:30 p.m. when a westbound vehicle stopped on Beaver Grade Road while the driver waited to make a left-hand turn to Forest Green Drive. A second westbound vehicle also stopped behind the first car.

Seamon said a third westbound vehicle failed to stop, striking the vehicles in front of it from behind. That caused the first vehicle to veer into the eastbound lane, hitting the Moon Police car head-on.

No other injuries were reported. Pennsylvania State Police have been called in to investigate.
