Moon Man Wanted for Burglary, Stealing Car

Moon Township Police say a Harvest Court man is responsible for a string of burglaries and unauthorized use of a car. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Moon Police say a 24-year-old Moon man suspected in a string of township burglaries has gone missing after driving off in his father's car.

Michael Allen Williams, who resides on Harvest Court, is charged with three counts of felony criminal trespass, burglary and theft by unlawful taking, according to a police report.

He is also charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle after police said he took his father's car without permission on Saturday.

A warrant has been issued for his arrest. Williams has not been seen since Saturday morning.

Police said a series of burglaries have been reported in the Harvest Court neighborhood dating back to December 2011. The most recent incident was reported on Aug. 18.

Williams is charged with entering a Harvest Court home through an unlocked door in April, stealing a gold ring and poker chips valued at several hundred dollars, police said.

On a separate occasion in April he entered a neighbor's unlocked vehicle and stole cash from a wallet, police said.

Williams' father told police that his son drove away with his 2004 Chevrolet Impala on Saturday. Williams is known to frequent high-crime areas and was scheduled to be fingerprinted by Pittsburgh police on unrelated charges, wrote Officer David Stitch in a report.

Police interviewed Williams earlier this month about his involvement in the burglaries.

Court records show Williams has been arrested multiple times on drug and theft-related charges.
