Moon Firefighters Donate to Burn Recovery Efforts

The department has supported the charity since 1993.

Members of the donated more than $1,000 to benefit a fundraiser for burned children. 

The department raised $1,598.40 from individual gifts and proceeds from its garage sale fundraiser to be donated to West Penn Allegheny Hospital's Aluminum Cans for Burned Children program. 

The program provides relief to children who have suffered burn injuries, supporting both their physical and emotional recovery, said Moon Township spokeswoman Alexis Sargeant.

Since 1993 the 50-member department has donated more than $26,224 to the fund.
