Thieves Target Four Moon Township Construction Sites

Police continue to investigate the incidents.

Equipment and supplies valued at more than $30,000 were stolen this month from Moon construction sites, according to police reports.

Residents and construction contractors last week reported a string of thefts at residential construction sites. Police said thieves stole thousands of dollars in supplies and equipment, some of which weighed hundreds of pounds and would have required more than one person to remove.

No one has been charged in connection with the incidents, and police continue to investigate.

Multiple contractors working on a home a 2004 Penfolds Place reported items stolen Oct. 7, including metal beams weighing several hundred pounds, a cement mixer chute, wire mesh and several ladders. An estimate of the value of the stolen items was not available.

That same day, police responded to a report of a theft at 2009 Marjorie Lane. Contractors said metal scaffolding, braces and window angle irons valued at $16,000 were stolen from the property.

Each incident is believed to have occurred overnight, and police said many of the items were left outdoors and unsecured.
