Moon Area Grad Found Dead in Pacific Ocean

An autopsy is scheduled for the former Moon Township resident, who was found floating in the ocean.

The body of a former Moon Township man was pulled from the Pacific Ocean near a San Diego pier. 

Lawrence Kenneth Booth, 34, a 1996 graduate, was found by a fisherman Saturday floating near San Diego's Ocean Beach Pier, according to a press release from the San Diego County Medical Examiner's office. 

Lifeguards brought Booth's body ashore on a rescue boat. He was found with no identification and pronounced dead at the scene, according to San Diego's Fox 5 News.

No cause of death was yet available and it was unclear how long Booth had been in the water. An autopsy is scheduled. 

Booth resided in Pacific Beach, CA at the time of his death, according to the medical examiner's office.
