Moon Area Grad Found Dead in Pacific Ocean

An autopsy is scheduled for the former Moon Township resident, who was found floating in the ocean.

The body of a former Moon Township man was pulled from the Pacific Ocean near a San Diego pier.

Lawrence Kenneth Booth, 34, a 1996 graduate, was found by a fisherman Saturday floating near San Diego's Ocean Beach Pier, according to a press release from the San Diego County Medical Examiner's office.

Lifeguards brought Booth's body ashore on a rescue boat. He was found with no identification and pronounced dead at the scene, according to San Diego's Fox 5 News.

No cause of death was yet available and it was unclear how long Booth had been in the water. An autopsy is scheduled.

Booth resided in Pacific Beach, CA at the time of his death, according to the medical examiner's office.

I went to school with Larry, and am just shocked and so saddened by this news. My prayers go out to his family and all of his friends.

Very sad day. I shared a home room in high school with Larry for four years and got to know him pretty well back then. We didnt keep in touch as much as I would have liked. He was about as smart as anyone I ever met and had a great sense of humor. RIP, Larry. You will be missed.

I met Larry a few times and had long conversations about math, physics, philosophy, life, etc. while walking in the woods. He was a brilliant and warm guy, and I'm honored to have met him.

I'm having trouble deciphering/accessing complete posts above. I have not been able to follow theRead More Boards meetings since relocating a year ago to TN. The fact that it took them til 3 am to ok WalMart's plans for the space, makes me think it was contentious, as it should have been. Many of us with experience of WalMart and the existing problems with traffic in the area remain appalled to hear WalMart's moving ahead.
