Man Charged With Home Improvement Fraud in Crescent Township

The victim said she lost $40,000.

A construction worker is facing charges after not not finishing a home addition project in Crescent Township, according to the Allegheny County District Attorney's office. 

Charles Edward Hawkins, 46, of C.E. Hawkins Construction, is accused of cashing checks but never completing a house project on Crescent Boulevard. 

Hawkins is facing one count of theft by deception, one count of deceptive or fraudulent business practices and two counts of home improvement fraud.

Along with not completing the addition to the home, Hawkins is accused of causing damage to the victim's shed, driveway and wood floor. The total value of loss for the victim is $40,000, according to the district attorney.
