Man Charged with Crashing Car After Mooncrest Fight

A Moon Township man is charged with wrecking his car on Mooncrest Avenue after a fight with residents on the street. 

Police said Richard Edward Burton, 35, got into a fistfight on June 8 with residents on the street before getting into his gold-colored Lexus and crashing it into several vehicles parked on the side of the road. 

Burton is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, driving under the influence at a high rate of speed, accidents involving damage to unattended vehicles and two counts of reckless driving, according to police records.

He is scheduled to appear Aug. 7 for a preliminary hearing in Coraopolis District Court.

  • Police said an Oakdale man assaulted a police officer after refusing to pay his $25 cab fare. 

William Harry Crisman, 41, was charged June 11 with aggravated assault, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, public drunkenness and theft of services, after police said he attempted to fight officers who approached him to collect an unpaid, $25 taxi fee. Crisman was restrained at the hotel before he was transported to the Moon Township Public Safety Building, according to reports. 

  • Leanne Lynn Quirk, 36, of Munhall, was charged June 11 with retail theft at on Market Place Boulevard.
