Kennedy Man Heads to Trial on Child Porn Charges

A Kennedy Township man is accused of possessing hundreds of pornographic images of pre-teen girls.

A Kennedy Township man will face a trial on charges he stored and shared hundreds of pornographic photos and videos depicting pre-teen girls on his personal computer.

Jeffrey Guzzo, 47, was charged by Moon Township Police in January with disseminating child pornography, possession of child pornography and possession of obscene and other sexual materials, according to court records.

Guzzo appeared Tuesday in Coraopolis District Court and waived his right to a preliminary hearing on the charges. A formal arraignment is scheduled for March 28.

Police were conducting an investigation into the dissemination of child pornography, when they traced an Internet protocol address back to Guzzo.

Investigators said the IP was sharing lewd files via the BitTorrent file-sharing network. Police later obtained a search warrant for Guzzo's Helen Street home, where they seized computers, hard drives and DVDs that contained images and videos of girls aged 10 to 13 who were engaged in sex acts, according to a criminal complaint.

Guzzo admitted to police that he was in possession of the pornography and said he has not had sexual contact with minors, according to the complaint.
