Kennedy Man Convicted for Possessing Child Porn

A Robinson-area man receives a sentence in federal prison for possessing sexually explicit images and videos of children.

A Kennedy man has been sentenced to three years in federal prision for possessing child pornography. 

John Stadalnikis, 58, of Rossi Drive, was convicted of owning a computer that stored video and images of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct. 

Stadalnikis was sentenced Tuesday in federal court to 37 months imprisonment followed by five years of supervised release, according to a statement from the offices of U.S. Attorney David J. Hickton.

The case was prosecuted as a part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched by the U.S. Department of Justice in 2006 to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse. The program marshals federal, state and local resources to locate and prosecute individuals who abuse children, according to Hickton's spokeswoman.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Homeland Security Investiations assisted in the case.
