Inmate Sneaks Drugs into Robinson Court with Help of Boyfriend, Husband

The trio will face drug charges in connection to the incident, according to reports.

An Allegheny County Jail inmate tried to use a Robinson court appearance to smuggle an unidentified drug back with her to jail.

The inmate had help from both her boyfriend and her husband, KDKA reports.

Inmate Sheryl Coleman, 31, of McKees Rocks, appeared yesterday before Magisterial Judge Carla Swearingen-Batch for a preliminary hearing on retail theft charges, according to court records.

Coleman's boyfriend, Christian Panko, age unknown, tried to leave an unidentified drug in the court's bathroom, where the woman planned to pick it up and sneak it back to jail, the CBS affiliate reports.

The plan was foiled when a court constable noticed the drug hidden in the toilet.

Coleman's husband, Robert Goode, 37, later appeared at the district judge's office and tried to swap tobacco and marijuana with the woman.

Both Goode and Panko were arrested and now face drug charges, according to KDKA. It was unclear if Coleman's boyfriend and husband coordinated their efforts to sneak drugs to the woman.

Police said they believe Coleman inserted drugs into her body and would need to be searched. Retail theft charges against the woman were held for court. A formal arraignment is scheduled for April 2.
