Update: Injuries Reported in Four-Vehicle Crash

Three drivers were injured in the crash.

said a combination of slick road conditions and careless driving caused a four-vehicle crash earlier today at the intersection of Stoops Ferry Road and University Boulevard. 

Officer Justin Blair said three of the four drivers involved in the crash were transported to area hospitals. Each driver had head, neck and back injuries, although pecific information on their conditions was not available. No passengers were present in the vehicles.

Blair said three of the vehicles involved in the crash were stopped at the intersection's red light when a silver Jeep Grand Cherokee lost control in the intersection and crashed into the line of cars at about 12:30 p.m..

"It was a chain reaction," Blair said.

Blair said though the intersection was covered in slush, speed and careless driving were factors in the crash.

The Valley Ambulance Authority and Robert Morris University police also responded to the incident.
