Police: Thieves Take Handgun, Golf Clubs, Other Items in Moon

Police said a combined $3,250 in property was stolen from two vehicles.

Moon Police are investigating two new reports of thefts from vehicles.

On Saturday, Aug. 24, police said someone stole a black glock 9 mm handgun worth $695 from a vehicle. Also stolen was a TaylorMade set of golf clubs and golf bag worth $1,800 and a black iPad in a black case worth $600. 

Police said the car had been parked in the 700 block of College Park Drive. The victim told police the vehicle had been locked. The vehicle also didn’t show any signs of forced entry or paint scratches, police said.

The victim’s owners card and insurance information was also taken from the glove box, police said.  

On Sunday, Aug. 25 at 2:18 p.m., police received a report of a sport utility vehicle that was broken into in the 8200 block of Landing Lane.  Taken were two pairs of sunglasses worth $150 each and $5 in coins from the center console, police said.

Moon police have recently handled a number of thefts from vehicles in the township. Earlier this month, police received reports of 20 vehicles that were rummaged through in various neighborhoods.
