Copper Wire Taken From Moon Construction Site

Moon police recently received a report of copper wire stolen from a construction site.

According to police, someone cut and removed wiring from two breaker boxes inside the construction site at Hilton Homewood Suites, 2000 GSK Drive, sometime over the past several weeks.

Police said the wiring had been installed at the site, where a new hotel is under construction, and was cut from inside the boxes. Approximately 250 to 500 individual 3- to 4-foot sections of insulated copper wire were stolen.

An employee of RKB Electric Supply of Carnegie reported the theft to police on Sept. 11.

This wasn't the first time police received theft reports from the construction site. On Aug. 29, police were called after someone went into the building and stole two spools of wire worth $655 belonging to RKB Electric.

Thieves also broke into a wooden tool box belonging to the plumbing supervisor and took a video camera, digital camera and Stanley laser. Police said those items were worth a total of $1,050.

Someone also failed in an attempt to open two windows in the office trailer, but damaged two screens, police said.
