Thoughts for the Patch!

The Trib Abandons Moon Township

Well I dropped in on YourMoonTownship.com as I usually do and I saw that instead of the local news, opinion, and slanted MASD gossip the website has been changed just to point to Tribune Review articles.

This is sad because if you recall the Trib bought out then closed the Moon Area Record a weekly newspaper we had here in Moon.

Upon folding the paper the Trib promised to support our community through an internet site, well I guess after 4 or 5 years of that they've had enough!

Now the owners of the Trib (the Mellon family) cannot even bother to host a real community website.  I find this very sad.

Long live the MoonPatch!  Evidently it will be our only website for hometown news, gossip and local bloggers.

I see the Joint Report has already relocated.

Jenna, can you confirm?  Maybe they couldn't stand the Patch's competition.

Hi Louisa, Thanks for your kind words. At Patch we encourage open conversation and dialogue and we have introduced a new open blogging platform, in which we hope the community will log in and take advantage of. We also hope readers will add their own events to our calendar and upload photos via the 'Pics and Clips' tab above. We want this to be your site as much as it is ours. Best, Jenna

Louisa, Preaching to the choir. Joint Report P.S. I know that Diogenes guy. Maybe I can snag him as well. Also, the previous blog spot told you how many "reads" you got. Let you know the relative popularity of the offering. Here you don't know. Only comments are logged.

I couldn't agree with you more, if you don't live in the east toward Greensburg, you don't exist. I log onto Post Gazette online to get other news. I don't subscribe to it for cost reasons.
