Moon Trainer Vies to Become 'America's Next Fitness Star'

A Moon Township native seeks votes from supporters to come out on top at a national fitness contest.

A Moon Township trainer hopes to be dubbed "America's top fitness star" in an online contest.

Trainer Joe Vennare, 25, who with his brother Anthony launched the , is competing in the nationwide “Fit or Flop” competition.

The competition is an online webisode series that features trainers and fitness instructors from across the country vying for the title of “America’s best fitness star” and $150,000-worth of video and promotional services from the Manhattan-based Apogee Media.

Supporters can visit the Fit or Flop website here to vote for Vennare.

The winner of the contest will launch a fitness brand for the company, whose promotional work will be featured across the country, according to the Fit or Flop website.

Vennare and his brother together formed Hybrid Athlete, an intensive, strength-training and cardio fitness program. You can read Hybrid Athlete's Patch blog here.

Vennare, a former defensive end for Seton Hill University, also competes in triathlons, ultra-marathons and obstacle course raises.
