Moon Resident Hired for Court Job Not Advertised

Tribune Review reports that a Moon resident was promoted, but others with more experience were not notified of the opening.

Court officials hired a Moon resident and daughter of Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas Judge Judge Donna Jo McDaniel as supervisor of jury operations without advertising the job opening, reports the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.

In November, McDaniel promoted her daughter Lindsay Hildenbrand, of Moon, to an expanded job as supervisor of jury operations.

The newspaper reports that officials did not consider more experienced candidates for the job, including Mari Hertzberg, a Moon resident and former court supervisor with 31 years of experience. Hertzberger has since retired from her position.
