Fort Pitt Tunnel Inbound Traffic Will Be Detoured on July 4th

State police issue traffic alert for Fourth of July.

State police are reminding motorists who attend the Pittsburgh July 4 festivities  that there is no parking or stopping on bridges, ramps or interstates.

All violators will be cited and any vehicles left unattended will be immediately towed at the owners’ expense along with being cited.

Motorists should also be aware that the Fort Pitt Tunnel inbound only traffic will be detoured to the West End Circle or Route 51 due to the tunnel closing at 9:15 p.m. because of the fireworks display.

There will be additional troopers patrolling the area to ensure the continuous flow of traffic and the safety of all motorists, state police said.
