Wise Walk Program Invites Moon, Montour Residents to Get Moving

The program is a great way for participants to feel good about their health and well-being.

More than 30 libraries, including Moon and Montour, are hosting walkers ages 50 and older, to take a Wise Walk.

The free 10-week walking program is being held in partnership between the Allegheny County Library Association, AARP and UPMC for Life.

Participants can set their own goals and walk at their own pace using a complimentary walking guide.

The Wise Walk helps adults age well with exercise and healthy aging resources at their local libraries.

The program at Moon Library.  Groups will meet Tuesday mornings or Wednesday evenings for 10 weeks. Registration is necessary; Call the library at 412-269-0334 with any questions.  Water and healthy snacks will be provided after each walk.

Robinson Library began its program May 1. The group meets at 8:30 a.m. Wednesdays on the Montour Trail's access point by Brother's Grimm. If it is raining, the group will meet at the Mall at Robinson's lower entrance by Dick's Sporting Goods.
