The neighboring townships both held annual Easter celebrations this weekend. Patch stopped by the Crescent Township Fire Hall and Moon Park to capture the family fun. 

Gas and oil drilling companies seeking to operate in  now must apply for permits.

The township's Board of Commissioners amended the zoning ordinance to require drilling companies to obtain a permit from the township for gas drilling or exploration. Companies also must pay a fee when applying for the permit.

Township administrators recently placed job advertisements in several trade publications seeking a new planning director. 

Adam McGurk, assistant township manager and planning director, will leave his post at the end of the month to relocate to New York City.

Michael Hauser, the longtime principal of will retire at the end of the school year. In his place next fall will be Barry Balaski, a former assistant principal at Blackhawk High School. Patch talked with the two educators to discuss how the high school will be affected by the transition.
