Presidents Day: What's Open and What's Closed
Not everyone has the day off. Check out our listing of Moon-area closings.
Monday is Presidents Day, a federal holiday that gives some people — but not everyone — the day off.
Here’s the scoop on which government offices are open/closed:
- Moon Township Municipal Offices: Closed
- Moon Area School District: Closed
- Classes at Robert Morris University: Closed
- Allegheny County offices and courts: Closed.
- Pennsylvania state offices and courts: Closed. That includes PennDOT drivers license centers, which are closed Saturday through Monday.
- Federal offices: Closed, of course, because it is a federal holiday.

The National Park Service also maintains a number of sites that commemorate other past presidents, including John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, John Quincy Adams, Martin Van Buren, Andrew Johnson, Ulysses Grant, James Garfield, Teddy Roosevelt, William Taft, Herbert Hoover, Franklin Roosevelt, Harry Truman, Dwight Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson, Jimmy Carterand Bill Clinton.
