PennDOT to Discuss Upcoming Moon Bridge Replacement

Representatives from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation will meet with residents next week to discuss Brodhead Road construction.

Representatives from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation will meet with Moon residents April 27 to discuss an upcoming bridge replacement on Brodhead Road.

PennDOT crews will replace the Brodhead Road bridge west of the Flaugherty Run Road intersection in spring of 2012. PennDOT called the bridge, which carries Brodhead Road over Flaugherty Run "structurally deficient."

PennDOT plans and details for the project will be displayed at the meeting, which will be held at 5 p.m. in the township Municipal Building.

Traffic will be maintained on the road during construction, but a significant truck detour will be necessary, according to a PennDOT statement. Further details have not yet been made available.
