Old Steubenville Pike Ramp Closes Monday in North Fayette

The ramp from Old Steubenville Pike to eastbound Route 22 at the McDonald Interchange in North Fayette Township will close long-term beginning on Monday, April 22.

In addition, PennDOT has announced a long-term closure of the right lane on eastbound Route 22 will occur. Crews will be extending the acceleration lane from the on-ramp onto eastbound Route 22.

The ramp and lane closure will begin at about 7 a.m. on Monday and continue around-the clock through late August.      

The bridge over the Montour Trail, which is between Route 980 and Old Steubenville Pike, has been closed since late February. This closure will remain in place through late August as well, PennDOT said.

The $2 million project includes bridge superstructure and interchange rehabilitation, milling and resurfacing, concrete pavement patching, drainage, guide rail, shoulders, signing and pavement markings and other improvements.

The prime contractor for the project is Golden Triangle Construction, Inc. of Imperial. Overall work is expected to conclude in late fall.

Traffic will be detoured using the following routes:

Route 980/Potato Garden Road to Eastbound Route 22

• Take westbound Route 22 to the I-576 interchange
• Exit and take eastbound Route 22
• End detour

Eastbound Route 22/980/Potato Garden Road to Old Steubenville Pike

• Continue eastbound on Route 22 to Noblestown Interchange
• Turn right at end of ramp
• Cross over Route 22
• Access Old Steubenville Pike
• End detour

Old Steubenville Pike to Eastbound/Westbound Route 22 or Route 980/Potato Garden Road

• Travel East on Old Steubenville Pike to Kelso Road
• Make right onto Kelso Road and access westbound or eastbound Route 22
• Exit at McDonald interchange to Route 980/Potato Garden Road or continue on eastbound Route 22
• End detour
