Ohio Valley General Hospital Receives $250,000 Grant for Upgrades

Work is expected to begin on the new parking lot this summer.

KENNEDY TWP.—Ohio Valley General Hospital has been awarded a $250,000 grant to upgrade the patient and visitors’ parking lot at the hospital’s main campus in Kennedy Township.

The Allegheny County Community Infrastructure & Tourism Fund grant funding will be used to replace the existing two-tier parking lot with a single-tier lot that’s safer and easier to navigate for patients and visitors, according to the hospital.

“The safety of our patients and visitors is paramount to our mission,” hospital President and CEO David W. Scott said in a statement.

“We continuously evaluate the need for infrastructure improvements, and we are grateful to Allegheny County for granting us the funds to make these necessary upgrades to our parking lot.”

The Redevelopment Authority of Allegheny County oversees the fund, which provides financial assistance to facilitate economic development through infrastructure assistance, to stabilize or correct existing infrastructure problems, or plan and prepare sites and buildings for future use.

Hospital officials said work is expected to begin on the new parking lot this summer.
