Moon Woman Indicted on Embezzlement Charges

If convicted, the charges carry a maximum sentence of 480 years in prison.

A grand jury in  United States District Court in Pittsburgh has indicted a Moon woman on charges that she embezzled $400,000 from a local credit union.

According to the indictment, Shirley Howl, 55, of Lee Drive, embezzled the money between Aug. 7, 2007 and Nov. 9, 2009, when she worked as head teller for .

West-Aircomm has a Moon location on Beaver Grade Road and branches in Beaver and Aliquippa. The court statement did not indicate which branch employed Howl.

If convicted, the charge carries a maximum sentence of 480 years in prison and/or a $16 million fine. The FBI investigated the incident.
