Moon Supervisors Continue RMU Zoning Hearing for Holiday Inn Property

Moon Township Supervisors voted last night to continue two public hearings related to the former Holiday Inn hotel property.

Supervisors continued the until 7 p.m. Monday, July 22 after emerging from a three-hour executive session. 

Robert Morris University officials presented supervisors with its plans to use the hotel property for a dormitory, being referred to as Yorktown Hall.

The property is located in a commercial district, so Robert Morris is seeking to establish the hotel property at 8256 University Boulevard as a mixed-use educational overlay district. The university also seeks conditional use approval to have the dormitory and mixed use educational development as a permissible use.

Supervisors fielded comments from residents, engineers and public safety officials as part of testimony during the public hearing.
