Moon and Robinson to Begin Fall Leaf Collection

The townships will pick up leaves and brush curbside throughout the fall.

Robinson and Moon Township public works departments released schedules and guidelines for fall brush and leaf pickup.  

Robinson Township:

Robinson Township will collect leaves from Oct. 17 through Nov. 2.  Some streets must rake leaves into biodegradable bags, while others should rake leaves to the curb. Moon Township:

Starting this month, Moon Township Public Works Department will pickup curbside leaf pickup, curbside brush pickup and offer a compost drop off.

  • Curbside Brush Pickup: Oct. 1 to Oct. 26 on weekdays.

The township will collect brush on residents' regular garbage collection day. Place brush at the curb by 8 a.m. on pickup day. Brush is to be stacked at the curbside and should not exceed 6 feet in length and 4 inches in diameter.

  • Leaf Pickup: Nov. 5 to No. 30, weekdays

The township will collect leaves on residents' regular garbage collection day. Residents should place leaves in biodegradable paper bags. Plastic bags and boxes will not be accepted. There will be no pick up on Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, or the Friday following Thanksgiving.

  • Compost Drop-Off Site: Open Oct. 19 to Dec. 4, Saturdays and Sundays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Residents can drop off yard waste including tree limbs, leaves and plant matter to be composted at the Downes Fire Station located near the intersection of Beaver Grade Road and Ewing Road.

Brush should not exceed six feet in length and four inches in diameter and should not be bundled or tied. To schedule a drop off during non-operating hours call the Township Municipal Office at 412.262.1700.
