Township to move forward with library roof repairs

The Moon Board of Supervisors last week voted 5-to-0 to have township officials begin preparing bid specifications for a at the

The repairs will also include work on the building's heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems. 

Library officials, including Bob Toothman, president of the Moon Library Board of Trustees, and head librarian Suzi Ruskin, who were both in attendance at the board's meeting, said roof leaks have continued in the building throughout the winter season.

Township manager Jeanne Creese said the township was unable to find existing office space to house the library, Moon Township Municipal Authority and . Each department currently is located in the Moon Community Center at 1700 Beaver Grade Road. 

In September, the township received bids for a full-roof replacement, but decided to postpone work on the building. The lowest bid of $246,830 came from Eighty Four-based G & W Roofing.

Moon Board of Supervisors to meet

RMU athletes visit Moon Public Library

Kids of all ages and families are invited to meet student athletes from RMU at 2 p.m. Saturday at the 

Athletes from the Moon-based university's football, women's field hockey and women's soccer teams will be on hand to show off their sports skills and talk about life as a competitive athlete.
