1. Crescent Township Board of Commissioners to meet

The township's will meet for its regular monthly business meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Crescent Township Municipal Building.

2. Support group for young mothers scheduled to meet in Coraopolis

The Coraopolis Community Development Foundation will hold a for young and first-time mothers in the Moon area. The meetings are held monthly and feature a discussion session and talks  geared toward new moms. Child care is provided. 

The group will met at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at 1000 Fifth Ave., Coraopolis. Mothers must register for the sessions by calling 412-436-0349. 

3. Kindergartners to see 'Curious George'

Kindergartners at will take a field trip to see "Curious George" Wednesday at the Benedum Center in Pittsburgh. 

4. Driving safety classes for seniors offered at the Moon Township Public Library

Moon-area senior citizens can brush up on driving skills this week at the

AARP is offering a two-day driving safety course Wednesday and Thursday. Seniors can learn how to minimize distractions on the road, learn the effects of various medications, and improve their driving skills. 

Participants can register by calling 412-269-0334. The cost of registration is $12 for AARP members and $14 for nonmembers. 

5. Girls softball skills clinic comes to Moon Area Middle School

The Moon Area Softball League will hold its annual players clinic from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday in the gymnasium. 

Girls ages 7 through 15 are encouraged to attend the clinic, which will teach players the fundamentals of throwing, sliding and catching as well as a six-step swinging technique.
