1.  Moon Area School Board meets tonight.

The Moon Area School Board will meet at 7 p.m. today in the high school board room. The board will vote on renewing an employee vision insurance plan and more than $27,000 in change orders to the newly completed, $76 million high school.

2. Township meetings scheduled.

The Moon Environmental Advisory Council will meet at 6 p.m. today in the municipal building. 

The Moon Township Municipal Authority will also meet at 7 p.m. in the Sky Room of the Moon Township Public Library. 

3. More fish fries in Moon. 

'Tis the season for community fish-fry dinners.

Moon Patch will tell you all about the Moon Volunteer Fire Department's annual Friday fish fry today, but be sure to check out our events calendar for a full listing of community fish fries throughout the Lent season. 

4. Try out splash painting. 

The Robin Hill Community Center will host Splash Painting sessions through the end of the month. Residents who have some experience painting can sign up for the water and mixed-media art classes, which take place at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Thursdays at the community center. Call 412-262-1703 to register. 

5. RMU communications prof, jazz author speaking at RMU.

Heather Pinson, author of the book The Jazz Image: Seeing Music through Herman Leonard's Photography, will be featured Wednesday night at Robert Morris University's Rogel Chapel, as a part of the university's diversity-month speaking series. The time of the event has not been set. 

Pinson, who is also a communications professor at RMU, will speak about how she's crossed racial boundaries in the worlds of education and art.
