Delays Expected on Route 51 in Moon, Robinson

Road crews will soon begin work to preserve a bridge.

PennDOT crews on April 2 will begin work to preserve the bridge that carries Route 51 over Montour Run in Moon. 

Motorists can expect lane closures and single-lane alternating traffic from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays between Lewis Avenue and Ewing Street along Route 51 in Moon and Robinson until late May. The project is expected to be completed in late summer. 

The $1.8 million project includes expansion dam replacements, concrete substructure repairs, zone painting and other improvements.

The prime contractor is the Pittsburgh-based Lane Construction Corporation.

Motorists are advised to use caution and expect delays and changing traffic patterns when traveling through the area.
