Allegheny County Executive to Hold Penguins Rally Wednesday

The Penguins will take on the Tampa Bay Lightning at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs.

Allegheny County Executive Dan Onorato and Pittsburgh Mayor Luke Ravenstahl will hold a rally for Penguins fans at noon Wednesday at the Allegheny County Courthouse courtyard. 

Onorato also declared Wednesday "Black and Gold Day" in Allegheny County. The Penguins will take on the Tampa Bay Lightning at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Consol Energy Center in the first game of the Stanley Cup playoffs. 

Penguins mascot Iceburgh will be on hand for the rally, which will feature live music and snacks for fans.

Fans are encouraged to don black and gold throughout the day and bring nonperishable and canned food items to the event to be donated to the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. 

Fans attending the game are asked to wear white to create a "white out" at Consol Energy Center. Fans without tickets can view the game on a screen at the Civic Arena's south parking lot on Centre Avenue.
