Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices The Preferred Realty

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices The Preferred Realty, announced that it has acquired T&R Real Estate Services, one of the largest residential and commercial property management services in the region. The acquisition includes the entire Murrysville-based operation and its employees and licensed agents, including the broker/owner Susan Reese-Hartzell who will focus on commercial business, and Carl Trexler who will focus on managing the company’s large portfolio of condominium and homeowners’ associations. The acquisition is effectively immediately. Terms were not disclosed.

Ron Croushore, owner and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices The Preferred Realty, saw a unique opportunity to expand the company’s range of services with the creation of a new division called Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices The Preferred Property Management Company.  “Given market trends whereby more investors are turning to real estate, developers are creating more condominium and homeowners’ associations, and there is currently a need for more rental housing, the timing couldn’t be better,” said Mr. Croushore. “I’m excited about this expansion and to have Susan Reese-Hartzell heading-up this new specialty division for us.”

Susan Reese-Hartzell also saw the wisdom of this opportunity to become a part of the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices network. “After 33 years of growing the property management business, the market is growing and it’s great that our team will now be part of a larger, highly energized organization with a great brand name and a great team of Ron Croushore, Jim Saxon and the managers and agents of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices The Preferred Realty. It’s a great fit for us,” said Ms. Reese-Hartzell.

The new Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices The Preferred Property Management Company will now be expanding and serving a wide geographic area in providing leasing and management services for dwellings, condominium and homeowners’ associations, offices, and commercial buildings, as well as handling commercial sales for the organization.

Recently, on April 17, The Preferred Realty’s management team converted to the new Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices brand and name. With the transition, The Preferred Realty associates gained access to Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices’ robust technology platform, ongoing business consultation, professional education, marketing support, and the Luxury Collection program that adds marketing clout to high-end listings. The company’s new cabernet-and-cream signage and advertising are now appearing throughout Pittsburgh and the entire southwestern Pennsylvania region.
