Verizon Workers Picket in Moon

Several striking workers from a local Verizon facility stage protest at the end of University Boulevard.

Three Verizon employees took the Communications Workers of America strike to Moon today. 

The workers, who declined to give their names, stood this morning at the corner of University Boulevard and the Interstate 376 Business Loop. The men said they worked at a Verizon facility near the Pittsburgh International Airport.  

Verizon workers have been dispatched to picket across the Pittsburgh region, the men said.

Nearly 45,000 Verizon employees across the nation have been on strike for more than a week. The union and communications company are at odds over pensions and health care contributions.
