Toys R Us Recalls Remote-Controlled Helicopters
The recall is due to the risk of fire and burn hazards.
Consumers are being asked to stop using a certain remote-controlled helicopter purchased from Toys 'R Us.
Refunds and store credits are being offered for the Fast Lane FA-005 Radio Control 3-Channel Helicopter with Gyro Stabilizer and Charger, model number 5F5F2F5, because the rechargeable battery inside can overheat, posing fire and burn hazards to consumers or nearby items.
According to a notice, about 6,500 were sold in the United States and 900 in Canada from September 2012 through January 2013 for about $100.
Toys 'R Us, which has a store in Robinson Township, has received 11 reports worldwide of the battery overheating, with no injuries reported.
Consumers can call Toys 'R Us at 1-800-869-7787 from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sundays, or online at www.toysrus.com.
