Robinson-Based Bayer Could Consolidate in New Jersey

The company is considering moving its corporate offices to New Jersey, according to reports.

More than 250 jobs at Robinson Township's Bayer Corp. U.S. headquarters could be impacted if the company relocates its offices to New Jersey.

The pharmaceutical firm is considering consolidating its U.S. operations in Whippany, NJ, the Associated Press reports.

Earlier this week, the company named Philip Blake as its new senior representative in the U.S, according to a company announcement. Blake will work from offices in New Jersey. He replaces CEO Greg Babe, 54, who was based in Robinson.

The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review quotes a spokesperson for the Robinson-based company as saying top executives are now eying a consolidation that would move its corporate operations out-of-state, though no decision has yet been made.

Prior to Babe, the company's previous two top execs were based in the township, the newspaper reports.
