Introducing Patch's Eat Local

In this newest weekly feature, Patch places the spotlight on a great local eatery. This week, we sample Forgotten Taste's signature Polish fare.

If you're jonesing for some Polish food in Moon, check out Forgotten Taste. The strictly take-out restaurant serves up food that tastes as good as it smells when you walk out the door.

The restaurant may be small, but the staff is friendly, the prices are modest and the pierogies are arguably the best in town.

Forgotten Taste is known for it's melt-in-your mouth pierogies -- the most popular item is the cheese and potato pierogie. The menu offers hot and ready to eat take-out meals, such as stuffed cabbage, haluski, and sauerkraut and kielbasa, each ranging in price from $4.35 to $7.75.

And with Super Bowl XVL nearing, Forgotten Taste's  black and gold pierogies are the quintessential Pittsburgher dish to bring the party. You can also try their homemade soups daily, all served by the quart and ranging in price from $5.99 to $6.99. The soups are sauerkraut soup, ruby red-borsch, wedding and Rosot, a Polish version of chicken noodle soup.
