Bites Near Us: Sharp Edge Bistro

This week, Patch stops by this Beaver Street restaurant known for its Belgian and craft beers.

The provides a charming dining experience right across the Sewickley Bridge.

Located in the heart of Sewickley on Beaver Street, the eatery serves up good food in good company.

A decent-sized bar welcomes patrons at the entrance of the door. If you’re looking to have a few drinks or even a bite to eat, the bar offers plenty of seating. Around the bar area are high-top tables for two.

The bistro serves upscale pub food, and the ample menu has a little bit of everything for everyone.

Appetizers, such as Mediterranean Nachos and Brie en Croute, range in price from $9 to $11. One of the menu’s most popular items is the buffalo bites, which are the Bistro’s version of boneless wings, with the choice of more than a half-dozen sauces. Six bites are priced at $6 and 12 bites are $10.

Other popular items on the menu include burgers, which range in price from $10.50 to $15.00. Belgian, buffalo, chicken, duck, ostrich and salmon burgers are all offered. Soups, salads, paninis and pizza are also on the menu. And save room for dessert, because the Liege Waffles are delicious, topped with either raspberry or chocolate sauce for $3.

Although the food is good, this eatery is known for its selection of Belgian and craft beer. Drinks take precedent at this bistro, and the atmosphere makes for a great place to hang out with friends, take in a Buccos game or play trivia on Tuesday nights.

The Sharp Edge offers daily specials. It is open from 11 a.m. to midnight Monday through Thursday; from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday and from noon to 10 p.m. Sunday.
