Moon High School Choir Collaborates with Pittsburgh Youth Philharmonic Orchestra—And You're Invited

It will be an 'exhilarating evening of extraordinary music.'

Upper St. Clair and Moon Area high school choirs—in collaboration with the Pittsburgh Youth Philharmonic Orchestra—will present Carmina Burana, at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 2 in the Moon Area High School auditorium.

Twenty-four poems in Carmina Burana were set to music by Carl Orff in 1936. Orff's composition quickly became popular and a significant piece of the classical music repertoire. The epic opening and closing movement, "O Fortuna," has been used in numerous films.

Mitchell Warmbein, a USCHS alumni will be performing as a guest soloist along with an alumna from Moon.

Cost of admission is $10 for adults, $8 for senior citizens/students and $5 for children age 5 and under. Tickets may be purchased at the door. In addition, a professional recording will be made and can be purchased for $18 through Al Teare Recordings in Wexford. CD order forms will be available in the MAHS lobby before and after the concert.

Additional parking will be available at the Allegheny County Park & Ride facility located off of University Blvd. near the Sheetz. The continuous shuttle is free and will transport concert patrons to and from Moon Area High School.

I'm having trouble deciphering/accessing complete posts above. I have not been able to follow theRead More Boards meetings since relocating a year ago to TN. The fact that it took them til 3 am to ok WalMart's plans for the space, makes me think it was contentious, as it should have been. Many of us with experience of WalMart and the existing problems with traffic in the area remain appalled to hear WalMart's moving ahead.
